Types of Cases I Handle
- Estate Planning/Wills/Trusts
- Probates and Estates
- Small Business Services
For three years, I was an IRS attorney who dealt with estate taxation and gift taxation. As a consequence, I have tailored my practice to include a great deal of estate planning, including the preparation of Wills, Living Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives (Living Wills), and other related estate planning documents.
Over the last 12 years, I have assisted the courts in numerous guardianship matters, serving as a Guardian ad Litem. This experience has taught me a great deal about guardianships, and I handle guardianship matters of all kinds.
I have helped numerous families settle estates of deceased family members. The process is known as "probate" if a Last Will and Testament is involved. If there is a Living Trust, my services include insuring that the trustee is acting properly and in accordance with the instructions of a Living Trust following the death of a trustor (one who establishes the trust originally).
Through the years I have represented owners of small businesses in various capacities. I enjoy working with entrepreneurs and have many small business clients.
For many years I was active in the personal injury arena. I have represented many injured people, whether the injury occurred as a result of an automobile accident, or due to medical malpractice. I still undertake representation in the personal injury area as well.
What did I Learn as a Former IRS attorney?
Quite succinctly, I learned how the Internal Revenue Service works. I understand why it takes so long to settle estates that are audited. I also learned how to prepare estate tax returns and gift tax returns which have the best chance of passing muster and avoiding an audit.
